This is one of Gremlin's four NVIDIA Quadro FX3000G graphics cards before
installation in a supernode. This is a 256MB card with genlock capability.
Genlock is needed for the four supernodes to drive the IBM T221 monitor.
The FX3000G not only uses the AGP slot, it also sits over the adjacent
PCI slot. The faceplate takes both slots. It has two RJ-45 genlock interfaces
as well as a power LED, BNC external sync connector, a stereo sync interface,
and two DVI interfaces.
There are 16 NVIDIA GeForce FX5950 graphics cards in Gremlin. This photo
shows them unboxed with all of their accessories. The FX5950 is a 256MB card
These are all 16 of the FX5950's lying on a static pad as we prepare to install
them. Although we purchased all 16 cards at one time from a single vendor, and
they are all made by a single manufacturer, it is apparent in this photo that
all of the cards are not the same. Some use a blue circuit board, some use a purple
circuit board, and a few even have a gold faceplate!
This photo shows a Quadro FX3000G installed in an IBM Intellistation Z Pro system.
This card requires external power directly from the system's power supply.
This photo shows a GeForce FX5950 installed in an IBM Intellistation M Pro system.
This card also requires external power from the system's power supply.
This is the back of the same FX5950 in the previous photo.
