Brasher, D. G., Dennis, G., Walden, C., Puryear, S., Hill. T. W., & Dalton, L. (2014). MRAP Case Study: Navistar Defense's Plant in West Point, MS. Technical Report: Manufacturability Assessment of Military Vehicles (ERS). Vicksburg, MS.: Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) Vicksburg, MS..
The purpose of this case study is to document the major activities, technologies, management practices, and lessons learned required to successfully launch Navistar Defense’s armored vehicle plant in West Point, MS. This report places particular emphasis on the launch of the MaxxPro® platform of MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected) vehicles. The approach used in this case study focuses on organizations and functions rather than particular people. This was done in order to place emphasis on the systems related issues involved in the case study. It should be noted, the case study authors include several people who were intimately involved in the execution of the project. Since the goal of the case study is to reflect accurately the actual events, milestones, and technologies involved, multiple reviewers have been used.
